Community charter

Participation without performance.

You may browse quietly, keep a private Chair, or deliberately share parts of your reading life. Public participation is a choice, not the price of belonging.

Read generously

Interpretations may differ. Challenge ideas without targeting people.

Protect privacy

Do not share private event information, identifying details, private journal entries, or another reader’s nonpublic material.

Respect boundaries

No harassment, hate speech, impersonation, spam, piracy, doxxing, or coordinated review manipulation.

What can be public

Members may deliberately publish a public Chair, reviews, recommendations, Lantern Index tags, Afterglows, Lantern Notes, Circle information, and other Society contributions. Some spaces are members-only, and private journal entries remain private.

Your controls matter

Where a visibility selector is offered, Lantern & Spine honors that choice. Members can also report, mute, or block within supported Society rooms. Founder moderation exists for reports and unsafe contributions.
